time when the nations of Europe brought catastrophic
hardship to their own continent and to the world at
large. The war had consequences beyond just the nearly
5 years when it took place, consequences that lasted
nearly 60 years beyond. This new series reviews the
actions that led up to the war, the war itself and
the devastation that the war brought on Europe, the
United States and the rest of the world.
